Cappadocia has two practical airport choices

Nevsehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV) and Kayseri Erkilet Airport (ASR) are the main airports used by travelers staying in central Cappadocia. NAV is closer to Goreme, Uchisar and many central areas, while ASR has a longer road transfer but may offer a flight that better fits the itinerary.

Nearest does not always mean best

A shorter transfer is useful, but a poor flight time or expensive connection can cancel the advantage. Compare the total journey from your origin, not just the final road distance. The shuttle price is €15 per person from either airport, so there is no shuttle-fare penalty for choosing ASR.

Goreme example

NAV to Goreme is approximately 40 km / 35–45 minutes by road. ASR to Goreme is approximately 75 km / 60–75 minutes before shared stops. For hotel access and arrival details, compare Nevsehir Airport to Goreme Shuttle with Kayseri Airport to Goreme Shuttle.

Other towns can change the comparison

Uchisar is especially close to NAV, while Kayseri can feel more natural for eastern approaches such as Urgup. Always compare the town where you are actually sleeping rather than treating all of Cappadocia as Goreme.

Nearest airport to Uchisar, Goreme and Urgup

NAV has a particularly strong road-distance advantage for Uchisar and Goreme. Urgup is farther east, so the difference is smaller than it is for Uchisar. Avanos, Ortahisar and Cavusin each have their own route figures. Check the actual hotel town before deciding what “nearest” means for your trip.

Airport name does not determine hotel coverage

Both ASR and NAV shuttle services cover the same supported central hotel towns. Choosing Kayseri does not mean you lose access to Goreme or Uchisar; it simply means a longer road transfer. Likewise, choosing NAV does not guarantee a faster total trip if the flight connection itself is worse.

Private price is lower from Nevsehir, shared price is equal

The shared fare is €15 per person from both airports. Private transfer is €80/€90 for NAV Vito/Sprinter and €90/€110 for ASR. This distinction matters more for groups choosing a dedicated vehicle.
